Direct Indexing1 - Custom Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs)

Direct Indexing1 - Custom Separately Managed Accounts (SMAs)

Direct Indexing is becoming a viral buzzword, but it's a strategy that has existed for years. We offer a menu of direct indexing managers who provide our HNW clients with custom portfolio solutions based on their specific needs. These solutions may include tax-loss harvesting, realized gain budgets, thematic or factor investing, among others.

Clients have the option to roll their existing equity portfolios into a custom strategy and give our managers directions, such as diversifying* or hedging over-concentrated positions, creating a tax budget, or minimizing index tracking error. These portfolios consist solely of equities without any funds, resulting in cost savings due to reduced taxable distributions and direct elimination of fund fees, thereby working to enhance long-term performance**.

They ensure that both us and our clients stay up-to-date on crucial matters such as legislative changes, tax code amendments, and corporate structure knowledge for business owners.

Customized Structured Investments3

Customized Structured Investments3

Structured investments combine elements of traditional securities with derivatives4, creating unique investment opportunities with specific risk-return characteristics. Our firm leverages the iCapital*** network to access this marketplace. Our HNW and Ultra-High Net Worth clients possess complex investment needs and demand a thoughtful approach to portfolio hedging5.

We offer a range of options, from FDIC insured market-linked notes to customizable notes with indicative pricing, helping to ensure that our firm remains at the forefront of the structured investment landscape.

Lines of Credit

Lines of Credit

A line of credit can offer invaluable financial flexibility and efficiency. Our HNW clients navigate the demands of dynamic business environments and unexpected liquidity needs that could potentially disrupt their personal financial plans. A line of credit can serve as a powerful safety net, providing swift access to funds working to avoid the liquidation of long-term investments or disrupting strategic financial goals.

Whether faced with time-sensitive investment opportunities, temporary cash flow gaps, or seizing strategic business ventures, a line of credit can offer a seamless solution. By leveraging our credit providers, our clients can optimize their financial leverage, capitalize on growth prospects, and maintain their lifestyle without compromising their portfolio's integrity or disrupting their business operations.

Charitable Remainder Trusts and Donor Advised Funds6

Charitable Remainder Trusts and Donor Advised Funds6

Many of our clients are charitably inclined, but sometimes the burden of devising a smart charitable giving strategy for HNW individuals can impede their ambitions. Fortunately, through our network, our clients have access to the American Endowment Foundation (AEF), the nation's largest provider of Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) services. By utilizing AEF's services, the intricacies of charitable giving can be lessened and clients can focus on the impactful difference their contributions can make.

To address the needs of individuals with highly appreciated stock grants, we employ Charitable Remainder Trusts (CRTs) among other solutions. CRTs help maximize the appreciated gain, provide income for life, and support the charities of their choosing.

Real Estate

Real Estate

If you've spent any time around Northwest Arkansas, you can witness the wealth that has been created from investments in real estate assets. Highly appreciated property is a blessing, but being a prudent steward of these assets comes with its challenges. Our firm offers strategies to assist HNW individuals in managing their real-estate.

Hedge Funds - Alternatives7

Hedge Funds - Alternatives7

In general, we find that our clients need to qualify as Ultra-High-Net-Worth before there is a growing concern about this product space. Through our partnership with iCapital, our clients gain access to a vast network of Hedge Funds and Alternative asset class experts. Whether it's venture capital, quant methodologies, or even municipal credit funds, we work towards identifying portfolio compliments for these clients.

1Direct indexing is an approach to index investing that involves buying the individual stocks that make up an index, in the same weights as the index.  This is in contrast to buying an index mutual fund or index exchanged-traded fund (indexed ETF) that tracks the index.  Investors cannot invest directly in indexes.  The performance of any index is not indicative of the performance of any investment and does not take into account the effects of inflation and the fees or expenses associated with investing.

2 For a comprehensive review of your personal situation, always consult with a tax or legal advisor. Neither Cetera Advisors LLC nor any of its representatives may give legal or tax advice.

3Structured products are pre packaged investments that normally include assets linked to interest plus one or more derivatives.  They are generally tied to an index or basket of securities, and are designed to facilitate highly customized risk-return objectives.

4The term derivative refers to a type of financial contract whose value is dependent on an underlying asset, group of assets, or benchmark.  A derivative is set between two or more parties that can trade on an exchange or over-the-counter (OTC).

5Hedging is investing with the intetntion of reducing the risk of adverse price movements in an asset. A hedge consists of taking the opposite position in a related security or in a derivative security based on the asset to be hedged.

6 Donor advised fund - is a separately identified fund or acount that is maintained and operated by a section 501(c)(3) organization, which is called a sponsoring organization. Each account is composed of contributions made by individual donors. One the donor makes the contribution, the organization has legal control over it.  However, the donor, or the donor's representative, retains advisory priviledges with respect to the distribution of funds and th einvestment of assets in the account.  Donors take a tax deduction for all contributions at the time they are made, even though the money may not be dispersed to a charity until much later.  The charitable entities and/or fundraising opportunities described herein are not endorsed by or affiliated with Cetera Advisors or its affiliates. Our philanthropic interests are personal to us and are not reviewed, sponsored or approved by Cetera.

7 Alternatives Investments - often engage in leverage and other investment practices that are extremely speculative and involve a high degree of risk. Such practices may increase the volatility of performance and the risk of investment loss, including the loss of the entire amount that is invested. There may be conflicts of interest relating to the Alternative Investment and its service providers. Similarly, interests in an Alternative Investment are highly illiquid and generally are not transferable without the consent of the sponsor, and applicable securities and tax laws will limit transfers. A hedge fund is a limited partnership of private investors whose money is managed by professional fund managers who use a wide range of strategies, including leveraging or trading of non-traditional assets, to earn above-average investment returns.  Investors should consider their investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses associated with municipal fund securities before investing. This information is found in the issuer's official statement and should be read carefully before investing.
